Boating around our beautiful island is a great way to spend the day with family and friends. Weather it be bird watching, fishing, crabbing, or just taking a calm cruise to many nearby waterfront eateries you are sure to have a fabulous time! If you cannot decide on the beach or boating you can also take your boat to spend the day at our beautiful Cove and enjoy the best of both worlds! Always stay focused on your fellow boaters and kayakers and wear those safety vests!
The Boat Ramp is located at 5th St. South and Bayshore Avenue.
Licensed boats are only at 6th St. North, 28th St. – 30th St. & 40th St.
Jet Skis: You must have a permit to launch from designated beach. The cost is $125.00/yr. In order to obtain a permit, applicant must have a copy of Face sheet of insurance policy (minimum $500,000 liability insurance required). Permit holders must follow rules and regulations of permit. Jet skiing is permitted in the inlet side of South Jetty as designated by appropriately posted signs.
Kayaking is permitted at the following beaches: Adjacent to all Lifeguard protected beaches; North of 15th St. North; Absecon Inlet Beaches; Area between Sandy Ln. and Seaside Rd. lifeguard station; 26th St. South – City Dock area.
Catamarans: Must have a permit, the cost is $150.00/yr. In order to obtain a permit applicant must have proof of Liability Insurance (minimum of $500,000 liability insurance required). The launch area is located from Neptune Drive to Club Drive.
Stand-Up Paddleboarding: The fast-growing sport of stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) is a fun, easy way to go play on the water. With a minimum of equipment, you can paddle anything from the Brigantine Ocean Surf to the Back Bays of Brigantine and best of all- no waves are required!
